In these difficult times it's very easy to be frightened. The word 'pandemic' is enough to send a chill down the spine of the most rational and stoic of us. The truth is, if we take a step back and consider for a moment, following the advice of staying at home and limiting the contact we have with each other is probably the best thing we can do.

How many times have we all said in the past, “I wish I didn't have to go to work today,” now, we're being told to do exactly that. This won't last forever, although at times during the next few weeks it'll feel like it.

In the meantime binge watch that box set you've wanted to find the time for, read a good book series (strangely enough I can recommend a really good one!) or catch up on those little jobs you've been putting off.

Use Facebook and other social media to keep in touch with friends and loved ones as well as using the old fashioned method of picking up the phone so they can hear that friendly voice old people in particular prefer.

Yes, this virus is disrupting our lives and in some cases making things difficult for us, but it can and will be beaten. Take care of each other.

As Andrew said, these are difficult and frightening times. Nothing around is us certain. The only certainty we have at the moment is the love we have for each other. Cling to your loved ones. Continue to laugh together (it is the best medicine after all).

It is so important through all this to keep your hopes high. This will pass. The sun will shine through again. We will get through this all together (while keeping a safe distance, of course).

Listen to your local government. Take heed of their instructions. Use this time to catch up with old friends, read that book you’ve been meaning to read, or finish that long list of projects you’ve been putting off (come on, you know you’ve got it).

Stay safe, take care of one another, and hold on to the hope for a better tomorrow.
